Reviews for Shattered
“I loved this book! When a girl with superpowers takes a walk on the wild side – you know that she’s going to get into big trouble.” Caroline McCall (aka Evie Hunter), Bestselling author of The Pleasures Series.
The only thing she has left to lose is herself.
Carla Mainston is stuck in a dead end job, and her friends have all left her behind. Life sucks, so she quits her job and nearly blows up her bullying boss with her malfunctioning powers. Then she heads out into the world on a quest to find her missing friends.
High on power and running away from her problems, Carla travels to Zoola—party central—and becomes engrossed in a dangerous world of drinking and escapism, completely unaware of the devastating effects it will have on the people she cares about the most.
Her drinking and clubbing begins to spiral out of control when she ends up homeless and friendless with dangerous enemies popping up all over the place. With a hit man trying to kill her and a psychopath stalking her, she’ll be lucky if she survives long enough to make amends and pick up the pieces of her shattered life.

I really liked the beginning of the book. We see how each of the characters have grown and made a life for themselves as time passes of course. Carla finally tries to take hold of her life even though it still gets put on hold for a short while again. As the story continues, Chilton draws us in to each person plight. Some got their wires crossed while some just flat out didn’t have wires. Thank goodness each of the 3 main characters are resilient and strong. For a has a little trouble getting her wires crossed which pushed her on a binge with the help of a so called friend, which is the hold I was talking about earlier. I absolutely loved the ups and downs to this story. The colorful society of people and how they all live is truly fascinating. Keep it up please.
