Reviews for Legacy
“…a feisty heroine, strong and well defined supporting characters, a nice fantasy world rich in metaphorical significance aimed at the understanding of a younger reader, a compelling plot, and a lot of snappy one-liners. All wrapped up by an author who obviously has a real fondness for the characters, for the world she has created, and for the real world.” Pop Bop, Top 500 Reviewer on Amazon.
A rebellious teenage outcast is their only hope…
She’s wild and outspoken. Trouble follows Carla Mainston wherever she goes. But what do you expect from a purple outcast living in a green colony?
When a deadly disease spreads through the colony, and Carla’s brother Joe becomes infected, she knows she has to find a cure before it’s too late. But when her genetics kick in and she begins inheriting mysterious superpowers, her life becomes a whole new level of crazy.
If she can just get a handle on her new powers, which so far only seem to make her gooey over boys, maybe she can become a superhero and save everyone, assuming she doesn’t get arrested or have the life sucked out of her before then…

I was happily surprised when Legacy took a turn toward another adventure but still tied in some of the same theme from Detention. We gained some more knowledge about who Carla is and where she comes from. Her resistance towards a disease sweeping the colony and those effected were so funny and the way she described her brother Joe’s illness at one point, took the severity of the situation down a few notches to lighten the story until it could resolve itself. When Dora experiences her powers, I felt like the series took on a whole new level of possibilities. Now I really cannot wait to see what happens next.

Rebellious as ever and just as much fun. Pleased the book was longer as it just added to the entertainment. Paranormal YA at its best. Could really use a housekeeper from this world!! ??

This has a solid, original storyline and I loved the ending. Can’t wait to see Carla develop more of her powers. Definitely looking forward to more in this series.

This book is so much more then a book it is a novel. At some times in the story it got confusing but overall I believe this book was a wonderful read. I still love how the mystery of who the girl really is has evolved and thought this story we start to know more about her. I can not wait for the next book so I can find out more about her powers and to see how she will use them.

I was glad I tried this story. It was set in a well-formed fantasy world and had a likeable, strong heroine. For a YA fiction, it was nice change to find a strong character in the leading role. If you love YA fantasy or you’re looking for something a little different, I recommend giving this story a try.
